Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components
A special item can be used to develop certain Pokemon. The Upgrade can be obtained by spinning a photo disc, and is often offered as a reward during Pokemon GO events.
The Upgrade can also be found in weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools to increase their item level. The upgrade costs Flightstones and crests, based on the item type.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be inserted into weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools to add attributes bonuses or other effects while using the equipment. The equipment being upgraded must have an upgrade slot that can accept the component, and the majority of upgrade components require the item to be upgraded to be above an amount. Some upgrade components also have special effects when they are applied to an item. Upgrade components are available through crafting, bought by Karma merchants or traded with other players via the Trading Post. They can also be rescued from equipment and redeemed as rewards.
There are different upgrade components, each with various bonuses. Universal upgrades, which include gems and inscriptions can be used in any type of equipment. They also offer smaller bonuses than other types of upgrade components. Infusions can be found in non-amulet ascended equipment as well as legendary equipment, while enhancements are used to upgrade certain items that are ascended back. The majority of upgrade components can be replaced if they are inserted into an item, however doing so will destroy the previous upgrade. The only exceptions are glyphs which can only be used in gathering tools, and enchantments. Both can be removed and then reinserted.
Insignias Enchantments, insignias, and prefix/suffix upgrades will be displayed in the hover display of the item while they will be added to the equipment's name (e.g. an Radiant Insignia will change the name into Radiant Tyrian Armor). The number of upgrades that are added to an item will be displayed in the item's tooltip.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to add decorative and useful elements to an OpenType font. These include ligatures and fractions, as well as ornaments, as well registered trademark symbols, ellipses and swashes as well as swashes. The Glyphs Panel lets you add and view these unique characters, as well as regular symbols like em and en dashes as as registered trademark symbols.
Each Glyph provides an initial boost in stats for the character. It also includes up to four Secondary Stats that affect the radius of the glyph on your Paragon Board. Once a Glyph has reached level 15 it is able to be upgraded via the Glyph Upgrade Altar. The radius of the Paragon Board increases by one node for each 15 levels that a Glyph is upgraded.
Once a Glyph has reached the desired level, it is possible to activate it. Select it, then click the "enchant button". The resulting Glyph will give its stated benefit, and boost other nodes within its range on the Paragon Board. It's important to place Glyphs in the best locations to benefit your build, and that is why it's recommended to prioritize Magic Glyphs early on. Rare glyphs can also provide double bonuses if certain conditions can be fulfilled.
If you're having trouble finding a particular glyph click the cycle widget on the Glyphs panel to show the panel in a number of perspectives. Each view shows the Glyphs using a different font. You can narrow down the selection of glyphs by selecting an option beneath "Entire Font". For example, punctuation is only displayed in punctuation glyphs. Math Symbols limit the selection to mathematical symbols.
Rerolling

Sets

When you upgrade a set item, it becomes an upgraded version that is better than the previous version. For armor and weapons, this means it gains an increase in the base defense as well as an lower strength requirement, and an lower amount of requirement.
