World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to boost the gear score of an item to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory and heading to the kiln.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons will also reroll the stats of their base. This is usually a good factor, but it could also have negative consequences. For items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance) upgrading them can render them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely lucky roll.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to increase their performance. This can boost the defense base of a helm or chest as well as belts and gloves. These can boost their strength and agility.
